“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Eccl. 3:1

This is probably a verse that many of us are familiar with and one that we have known to be true in our lives, especially as we grow older and live more of life. We see the seasons change, people enter and leave this world, friends come and go, new occupations become old ones, and journey through and to places we could have never imagined. So many facets of what we know as life.

When I joined Homeschool ALUMNI just a few days after it was launched in 2005, I figured it would be like all the other websites I had joined – I would be a member, get to know some people and enjoy like - minded fellowship with people who shared a common background, that of being homeschooled. Within just a matter of months, I realized this wasn’t going to be the case and I was soon helping with various things, including planning the first National Reunion. Over the course of the next couple of years, God allowed me to be closely involved in the running of Homeschool ALUMNI. That time has been amazing! I have met some great people and been witness to God doing awesome things through and in Homeschool ALUMNI. I definitely wouldn’t trade that time for anything and am so thankful and humbled that God has given me the privilege to be part of this ministry.

There come times of change in all of our lives. Sometimes those changes are small and sometimes they are much larger. After much prayer and seeking God’s direction, I have come to the decision that God would have me make a rather major change in my life. That change involves me stepping down from most of the major responsibilities that I currently have with HSA. In the coming months, I will be working my way out of my different jobs and turning those responsibilities over to other very capable members of the HSA community.

I am still planning on being a member of the HSA community, just in a different way than I have been over the past two and a half years. Again, I am so thankful for the time that I have been able to serve in the capacities that I have. Thank you for your unfailing support through prayer, words or encouragement and many helping hands. I look forward to what God has in store for HSA in the future. I know that many of us don’t know exactly what that’s going to look like, but as we continue to commit ourselves to the One who holds the future, we can trust that it will be awesome! Onward in the journey!
