I am a homeschool graduate from western Kansas, the oldest of five proudly homeschooled kids! I am currently a provisional elder of the United Methodist Church, and serve a mid-sized parish in eastern Kansas. In coming years I hope to pursue a PhD in homiletics and someday to teach at the seminary level. I love being a Christian disciple!
In my spare time, I am an outdoorsy kind of girl. I love any kind of hobby associated with water, especially long distance swimming. I also enjoy running, hiking, rope course/rock climbing, and camping. Inside, I like to quilt, knit, write, and CLEAN!
Homeschooling was a wonderful experience for my family. My sisters and brother and I are still incredibly close (in love if not in miles!), and I thank the Lord every single day for my parents' love and dedication in being willing to gift us with homeschooling.
If we share any common interests or a "kindred spirit," say hi!
The Bible, everything from C.S. Lewis, Jane Austin, Shakespeare, Jack London, and Mark Twain. A favorite recent book is Freakonomics, by Levitt and Dubner. (I personally think they could pass as homeschoolers just by virtue of their unique perspective on the world.)
Newsboys, dc Talk, classic rock, and pretty much everything except really bad rap.

I didn't even notice before that you are going to school in KC! Not far from me at all!
Yes, I do help with alot of the baking. Worked myself into being irreplaceable, which is a bad thing when I want to take a vactation. I love it, for the most part.
What is the Freakonomics book about? Sounds intriquing...
